PyRevitLoader : pyRevitUpdater not currently installed

I’m seeing the “This file was modified by the third-party updater PyRevitLoader : pyRevitUpdater which is not currently installed.” error when opening my Revit model. A solution was posted in the post which I’ve attempted to link to but it makes no sense to me. Could someone please explain to me how to apply this solution with the knowledge that I have zero understanding of python, programming, or IT in general?

Not something you should get with ootb Pyrevit
Do you have a custom extension of your own or tried to install an extension from the extensions directory?

I do not have any custom extensions loaded nor have I tried to install any extensions. This only seems to happen with one particular project. It’s one which we’ve outsourced some production to India so my first thought is that they’re using a different version of pyRevit but that’s just a guess.

Ok, so my guess is that they have used an iupdater and got it embedded in that file.

Second option or fourth option in that dialog should do the trick.

This contractor should at the very least inform you about what the updater actually does.
