Advertisement for Match History Clipboard 3185:

Match History Clipboard, a dockable pane that brings
Windows Clipboard History (Win+V) semantics to Revit parameters.
Just like Win+V lets you paste from a list of things you’ve previously
copied — not just the last one — this tool keeps a scrollable, searchable
history of parameter name/value pairs and lets you apply any of them to
elements at any time, in any order, without re-picking.

Why it matters

The existing Match Type Properties workflow in pyRevit is one-shot:
pick a source element, pick parameters, paint them onto targets, done.
If you need to re-apply the same values later — or mix values from
different sources — you’re back to square one.

This tool removes that friction entirely.

Feature highlights

:card_index_dividers: Persistent clipboard history

Up to 50 parameter entries are stored in the pane.
New entries are prepended at the top; the oldest fall off the bottom.
Every load operation unchecks everything first, so you always start
clean — just like a fresh Win+V paste.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Search with regex support

A search bar filters the list live.
Toggle the funnel icon to switch between substring and full
regular expression matching — useful when your project has dozens of
similarly named parameters.

:artist_palette: Three load sources — think eyedropper

The three source buttons work like the colour-picker / eyedropper in
Paint, Photoshop or Revit’s own linework tool:

View Filters Read all equals-filter values from the active view at once
Filter + Elem Identify the dominant filter parameter, then read its value off a picked element — the “smart eyedropper”

:clipboard: Four-column list with category awareness

Each row shows checkbox · parameter name · value · category.
The category column displays the element’s category name, or “multiple”
when a single parameter spans several categories (common for filter-sourced
entries).
An optional category selection filter checkbox restricts rectangle-pick
operations to only the categories present in your checked parameters —
no more accidentally stamping values onto the wrong family type.

:pen: Three paste modes

  • Paste One — repeated single-element pick loop
  • Paste Box — repeated rectangle selection loop (respects category filter)
  • Paste Sel. — one-shot apply to the current Revit selection

All three paste modes apply type parameters before instance parameters,
matching the behaviour of the existing Match Type Properties tool.

Companion tool — “Color Pick” shortcut

Because the Filter + Elem eyedropper pattern turned out to be
overwhelmingly the most common workflow in practice, a separate
lightweight tool was extracted that does exactly one thing:
detect the dominant filter parameter → pick an element → paste immediately.
No pane, no history — just assign it a keyboard shortcut and stamp away.
The heavy lifting is shared code; no duplication.

I have been wondering… why is it that you show “(preferred)” with the pyRevit 6.4.0 EXE and not the pyRevit 6.4.0 Admin EXE installer? What is the difference? Admin installs system wide (all users) and the non-Admin installs at user level, correct? Are there other differences? Just want to make sure. Thanks!!

A few broken bits in the admin one.

Wait, are you saying that the Admin version has some bugs that the user one does not?

@RicWeber bug, no, but required improvements definitely. I know some areas are clumsy and make the admin version harder to manage from an IT perspective. (Look at issues in the repo, opened and closed ones) This is an area that needs some love, both on the installer and the cli side since both are tightly linked. Personally I am more inclined to work on general performance of Pyrevit, but improving admin installer is definitely a project in itself

I really like the overall UI update to the Keynote Manager, however I am wondering if in a future release when a keynote is added modified or revised it won’t “reset” the list of notes. Everything that I collapse down to a specific section re-open every single time I adjust a note. From a work-flow perspective that would be a great quality of life refinement.

@JohnRP I think I Introduced this misfortune when I added the refresh functionality to the keynotes list. let me take a look at that one and I will fix it this weekend.

That looks much better, currently my work around is to just have a key search that keeps the list sorted but this would be much improved for our teams use.
