This is my first time using the make pattern tool. I would like to know if I can add a dot in a pattern like the image below.
When I try to make this pattern it deletes the dots.

Revit cannot make a dot. At all. No such element in Revit. You can draw a very very short line. Autocad patterns that use a dot are translated into Revit as very short lines.
The pattern you have shown is simple enough just to write in notepad
