How does one enable the “Keep Open Tabs Sorted By Document” option under the “UI / UX” Settings?

I was wondering the same thing. I want to restart this thread to see if someone has an answer. No one in my office can check the box next to it, so I am wondering what it does or means.
I would also like this to be opened back up, whats the deal with the greyed-out button? How can I turn it on?
