Error - Installing Extensions (pyRevit v5)

Hello,

I’m encountering the following error during the EF-Tools extension installation.
I also tried installing other extensions, but the error persists.

Could you help troubleshoot this issue?

Revit 2025.2
pyRevit v5.0.0.24229

Thanks

Hi, welcome.
What steps did you take to install?

Hello @Jean-Marc,

The installation was done through the pyRevit menu in Revit.

Thanks

No pb on my side, I used the latest wip installer from last week and tried installing pychilizer in 2025 and ef-tools in 2022, no issue

Any chance this is a network or a rights issue?

Yes, it might be a network issue.
I tried to update via the Revit menu and received a network error:

What could be blocking access to the internet?

nah, issue with the internet checking access method
fixed in latest wip installer (should be available from the website under wip installers in 15min)
issue was happening in 2025 only

Solved!

Thanks

@Jean-Marc

Do you think it might make sense to add the supported version of pyRevit to the extension.json? Currently, many extensions do not support the Revit 2025 version and pyRevit 5, and users and developers need to be notified somehow.

almost fixed, it seemed to have introduced a bug, I will need more testing @amagro
(it happened after a revit restart)

It does, @dosymep Care to do it?
I would add a flag like: revit_2025_and_above_compat
We would need to announce it to devs and also ask them to test it themselves.

we need to design, write rather not according to the revit version, but according to the pyRevit version, our public API is also changing
